Here at Jerry Pelfrey Fireworks, the 4th of July is our favorite holiday of the year. The weather’s warm, the BBQ is cooking, and, of course, you’ve got fireworks galore come sundown!
It’s an exciting time across the country for those celebrating the holiday and here at Jerry Pelfrey Fireworks. That’s why we want to make sure you know how to have a safe 4th of July holiday this year.
As you know, we take firework safety very seriously. We’ve covered all the basics and even talked about how to safely light fireworks.
As much as we want everyone to have fun with our fireworks we also want to make sure everyone is safe in doing so. So, here are some safety tips from the Kentucky State Fire Marshal.
Firework Safety Tips
Only use fireworks as intended. Don't try to alter them or combine them
Always read and follow all instructions on the label
Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks without adult supervision
Report illegal explosives to the fire or police department in your community
Never use homemade fireworks or illegal explosives -- they can be lethal!
Alcohol and fireworks do not mix well. Have a "designated adult operator."
Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses
Use common sense
Always keep a bucket of water or a working water hose nearby
Never relight a "dud" firework. Wait 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.
Obey local firework laws. If fireworks are not legal where you live, do not use them
Use fireworks outdoors only
